We stayed at the castle about 20 years ago when it was let out fairly regularly for self-catering. It was far and away the highlight of our 3-week vacation in Britain, and we shall never forget it. The location is superb and the accommodation was wonderful. Best of all was the fact that we had the entire castle to ourselves, but there was a caretaker nearby to provide help whenever we needed it. I have never had a more enjoyable stay anywhere in the world.
