Dumfries House Description
The 5th Earl of Dumfries built this house between 1754 and 1759 and proceeded to furnish it in beautiful luxury, including a unique collection of Chippendale furniture, and it has been virtually unchanged for 250 years.
There is an excellent estate of over two thousand acres to explore, you will find the Adam Bridge, the Old Water-Powered Saw Mill, the Temple Gate House and the Walled Garden. Your Reviews of Dumfries House
James Smith (09 December 2011)
What a fantastic stately home and estate! I was taken aback by the beautiful Robert Adam interiors, Chippendale furniture, wonderful Ayrshire settings and had a lovely lunch in the old Coach House Cafe. Thank you to our guide and all the helpful staff. We'll definitely be back next year!
