Eltham Palace
I would like to convey my thanks to all the staff who made our visit on Monday 26th February so enjoyable. As I am elderly I was rather concerned that I would be unable to cope, but from the time we arrived the staff on reception and guides went out of their way to ensure that I was alright and this continued right through this beautiful property and included the extra mile given by the cafe staff. Thank you all for a wonderful day for three generations of my family including my eight year old grandson who was treated with the same courtesy as we all were. A truly remarkable and surprising property.Eltham Palace
Thrilling place to visit, unexpected and sumptuous. Would have been even more wonderful if the long table in the dining room had been laid with china and silver. You could also employ actors to drift around in 30s costume (with unlit cigarette holders) and have a ladies' maid on duty in Virginia Courtauld's room with dresses laid ready on the bed. There could also be costumed courtiers in the style of Edward IV ready to impart information in the Great Hall. A magical place.Rycote Chapel
Living close by many years ago, I constantly brought visitors to Rycote Chapel. Now living in New Zealand, I am directing them to go and see it. A very worthwhile visit and a delight to see.Moira Furnace
This is classic case of the waste of public money. The original idea was to create something that was self funding within 5 years. Due to outright incompetence by the trustees of the site the public are still having to fund this. After 5 years the site is looking run down, negleted, with no events planned, WAKE UP NORTH WEST AND SPEND OUR MONEY WITH MORE CARE.Stansted House
For four years I had the pleasure of living in a cottage in the grounds of Stansted House. The cottage that I lived in was called Park Gate cottage, reached by a mile long lane from the main entrance. At that time it was owned by the tenth Earl of Bessborough, who I spoke to many times, usually our conversation revolved around the Common Market, as at that time Britain had just joined. I still visit when I can as I have some beautiful memories of the estate, its forest and wildlife.Belvoir Castle
I, along with my wife and granddaughter, toured the castle in 1999. It was well worth the stop. The castle itself is full of beautiful and interesting things and the view outside is spectacular.Bryn Bras Castle
We stayed 21st to 24th Jan 2008 - absolutely fantastic! We had the North Tower apartment, beautiful...very spacious, the pictures in brochures and on websites do not do this property justice. The furnishings are amazing, beautiful walnut bed, excellent complimentary arrival basket. Superb location, delivers everything you could hope for from a stay in a castle, truly romantic, incredibly inspiring, sitting at the window looking out on to the lawn, makes you want to stay forever and write a novel! Lovely grounds although in need of some TLC. Will definitely return and would recommend to any couple wanting to "completely escape" from day to day life and have a romantic and relaxing time. Excellent! Made us very happy.Caernarfon Castle
I visited this magnificent castle in 1979, the occasion was my wedding in January, very cold, but we were very satisfied. I have quite a fixation about castles, Celts and anything medieval, very interested about tourist attractions.Blenheim Palace
The gardens of this palace were laid out by Capability Brown, the most famous of all England landscape gardeners, and a man not to be gainsaid even by royalty. The palace was wonderful and the gardens magnificent.Copped Hall
I would like to return to this place. It is not far from London, and the house is wonderful. It was a pleasure to visit such an excellent place.Groombridge Place Gardens & Enchanted Forest
I am Spanish, and I visited this house in August 2007, for two days when I was in Kent. The amiability of the employees was very pleasant, and the gardens were wonderful. The house and furniture were luxurious, and the restaurant was good. I will return again on my next visit to Kent. The Hall at Abbey-Cwm-Hir
Visited The Hall a few days before Christmas. Tours were given by family members in a very informal and friendly manner. We each had our favourite rooms (some of which included the small rooms at the top most part of the house). Unfortunately, due to the short winter days, we were not able to explore the gardens but the Xmas decorations more than made up for this. Please be aware that there is no signage at the entrance. This is due to the fact that it is a family home. Recommended.Fitzroy House
The place is very beautiful and very well kept, making it one of the most pleasant and interesting places I've been to in England. You can't miss finding out about L.Ron Hubbard and his wonderful contributions to humanity. This is a great place for lovers of philosophy, and people looking for the best in knowledge. Sarah will give you a tour you will never forget.Dunvegan Castle
I should have written this years ago. My aunt married Hector Fenton Macleod, a direct descendant of Dame Flora. The clan head actually visited Tasmania, Australia and I remember meeting a very stately lady. I was lucky enough to visit Dunvegan in 1999 and was awestruck. Although my relationship is tenuous at the very least, I felt I belonged there and my visit lasted far longer that my companions wished. As an aside, my aunt and uncle were very interested in horse racing and named one of their horses Fairy Flag. She was easily the most successful of their horses. Perhaps the 'Flag' is more powerful than we know!Bryn y Gwin Uchaf
My wife and I had the pleasure of living in the Coach House immediately after we were married, 45 years ago. We loved living there and it will always have a special place in our heart. Saw that the house was for sale while visiting our dentist and looking at a particular magazine. We will always envy those that will eventually live in this unique property, which holds happy memories for us.Kelburn Castle & Country Centre
We came to the medieval knights challenge last week, and we had a great time. My son really enjoyed all the challenges he had to do so much that he wanted to come back the next day. We only had one big disappointment. When we went to see the birds of prey I was disgusted at the condition of the cages that the birds were in. Don’t they ever clean the cages out? It can’t be good for the birds being in such dirty conditions. I really enjoy coming to see them but this time I was so disappointed. Can you please do something about this?Nether Winchendon House
Nether Winchendon is the most beautiful place I have seen. The drive and setting are spectacular and the house is very striking. We fell in love with it as soon as we saw it.Highclere Castle
I grew up in Highclere so I have always known about The Castle and its history. On several occasions I have visited the castle. It really is a beautiful building with a fascinating history. The grounds alone are worth a visit no matter what time of year it is. The drive through Highclere Park to the castle gives you a real feel of the place, and I would say to anyone visiting this area that Highclere and its Castle are a must.Burton Agnes Hall
I visited Burton Agnes Hall in August 2007 to attend the first annual jazz festival. The overwhelming feeling during that weekend was that the family who own the hall are very much there. The love of the family for all aspects of the hall and its gardens is palpable. The jazz was very relaxed and the numbers there meant that you could saunter into the hall and be entertained by the resident pianist whilst looking around at the Elizabethan splendour. The walled garden is worth the admission money - it is quite lovely. I will definitely be there again next August and wish the family well in their endeavours at the Hall.Bryn Bras Castle
I have stayed twice at Bryn Bras, in the mid 1990s and late 2006. On both occasions, we had a wonderful time. The castle is warm and welcoming as is Mrs Grey-Parry. The castle and its grounds are so quiet and peaceful, and I can't recommend it highly enough.Write A Review
