St Paul's Cathedral Description
There has been a Cathedral on the site for 1400 years, dedicated to St Paul. The present St Paul's Cathedral was built by Sir Christopher Wren out of the chaos left after the Great Fire of London.
The Cathedral has played its part in the national and commercial life of the City and the country, with funerals, weddings, great celebrations both sad and glad.
Memorials to people from all walks of life commemorate a wide range of activity, purpose and sacrifice.
The architecture is superb, the daily life of the great cathedral inspires.
Opening Times - 2012
- Monday - Saturday, 8.30 am - 4 pm (last ticket sold)
- Guide tours: Monday - Saturday. 10.45 am, 11.15 am, 1.30 pm & 2 pm
- Tours of the Triforium: Monday & Tuesday, 11.30 am & 2 pm. Friday 2 pm
- Cathedral Shop & Cafe: Monday - Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm, Sunday 10 am - 4.30 pm
- Restaurant: Monday - Sunday, 12 - 3 pm, Monday - Saturday - Afternoon Tea 3 - 4.30 pm
