Your Reviews of Tyntesfield
Caz (31 July 2007)
We visited this lovely house and found it utterly charming. The volunteers in each room were well informed and very helpful and answered all our questions well. The house itself is great and nearly every room on the ground floor is open, it will be fantastic when they can finally open the rooms upstairs as well. I loved the slightly distressed effect of the original furnishings, a lovely change from the reproduction stuff you normally get in these places, and you can tell it is a much loved family home. The grounds are a lot larger than I had expected and the walled kitchen garden didn't disappoint despite the long walk to them. All in all a wonderful day out and well worth what looks like a hefty price tag for the entry, but please don't let this put you off seeing the place, you won't be disappointed.
