Wallington Description

Dating from 1688, Wallington House was home to many generations of the Blackett and Trevelyan families who have all left their mark over the centuries. The restrained Palladian exterior gives way to the magnificent rococo plasterwork of the interior which houses collections of ceramics, 19th-century painting and wallpapers and an early 20th-century dolls’ house.

The house is set in delightful grounds comprising lawns, lakes and woodland, as well as a beautiful walled garden containing many species of unusual plants and shrubs and a conservatory housing a wide variety of fuchsia.

Opening Times - 2012

House:

• 3rd March - 4th November: daily except Tuesday, 12 - 5 pm

Walled Garden:

• 1st January - 31st March: Daily, 10 am - 4 pm
• 1st April - 30th September: Daily, 10 am - 7 pm
• 1st October - 31st December: Daily, 10 am - 4 pm

Gift Shop & Cafe:

• 1st January - 10th February: Daily, 10.30 am - 4.30 pm
• 11th February - 4th November: Daily, 10.30 am - 5.30 pm
• 1st October - 31st December: Daily, 10.30 am - 4.30 pm

Farm Shop:

• 1st January - 10th February: Daily, 10.30 am - 4 pm
• 11th February - 4th November: Daily, 10.30 am - 5 pm
• 5th November - 31st December: Daily, 10.30 am - 4 pm

Grounds:

• Daily in daylight hours

Last admission to house 1 hour before closing, Restaurant 30 minutes.

Garden closes 6pm in March & October or dusk if earlier.

Gift shop, restaurant and farm shop closed on certain days over Christmas.
